Indications for procedures with local anesthesia sedation

- Preoperative Fasting is one of the most important factors to ensure the safety of all anesthesia. Therefore, we call the 8-hour fast for solids and some liquids, like milk and other dairy products and 6 hours for the other liquids. If you take any medications for regular use (eg, anti-hypertensives), which can be ingested with 50 ml of water (the volume of a cup of coffee) without breaking the fast.

- Transfer to hospital / clinic pre-operative exams, even if they have been evaluated by the surgeon and / or anesthesiologist.

- If you take drugs (eg antihypertensives, hypoglycemics, anticoagulants, etc..) Lead to the clinic. Most times, that will not stop taking their medication, however, you should inform the surgeon who is taking medication beforehand.

- Always is accompanied by a trusted adult. Remember you can not drive or perform activities that require attention within 12 hours after anesthesia.

- Avoid carrying valuables in the clinic. Avoid use (earrings, bracelets, watches, etc ...) makeup and nail polish (it can interfere with the measurement of vital signs). 6) Avoid smoking within 48 hours before and 10 days after surgery and decreased surgical success and may cause anesthetic complications, and contribute to the full healing of tissues.
